Research Associate - Civil Engineer, MSc, PhD Candidate -Expert in Hydroinformatics, Water Cyber-Physical Systems and Water Resources Management
Mr. Dionysios Nikolopoulos is a PhD candidate (since 2017) in the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Resources Management of the School of Civil Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), holding a Diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA (March 2015) and an M.Sc. in Water Resources Science and Technology from NTUA (Oct. 2017).
Currently, he is a research associate (since Oct. 2014) at NTUA, working during this time as researcher in various research programs (IMPETUS, STOP-IT, NextGen, PROCRUSTES, IMPROVING QATAR WATER, PEARL, E3WDM and others).
Mr. Nikolopoulos research interests include hydroinformatics, hydraulics, hydrology, water resources management, cyber-physical systems, circular economy, machine learning, remote sensing and GIS.
He is an expert in developing Python applications and computational models.
His PhD work focuses on resilience assessment of urban water cyber-physical systems and modeling the complete urban water cycle.
More specifically his research concerns the resilience of decentralized and distributed water systems under long term uncertainty and the coupling of cyber control and monitoring systems to physical urban water systems and assess integrated systems against cyber-physical attacks.
He has authored 10 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and 25 publications in international conferences.
