Civil Engineer MEng, MSc, PhD Candidate – Expert in R&D and Data Science for Water Infrastructure
Nikos Pelekanos is a Civil Engineer and PhD researcher at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), focusing on AI applications for critical infrastructure and cascade effects.
With a strong background in water resources engineering and an MSc in Probability and Statistics (NTUA), his work brings expertise as a data scientist, applying advanced analytics and machine learning to support decision-making in water utilities.
He has contributed to multiple national and EU-funded projects on water loss assessment, pipe replacement optimization, climate-aware demand forecasting, climate resilience modelling and infrastructure optimization.
Nikos also serves on the Editorial Office of the international scientific journal Urban Water Journal, and has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal publications and participated in leading international conferences.
