Research Associate - Civil engineer (M.Eng., M.Sc.). Expert in Hydrology/Hydraulics & Water Resources Management
Mr. George Koutsos is a Civil Engineer and Researcher. He holds a M.Sc. in Water Resources Science and Technology (NTUA) and a 5-year Diploma in Civil Engineering (NTUA).
His Master's Dissertation, titled “Large-Scale Evaluation of Machine Learning & Conceptual Approaches in Rainfall-Runoff Modeling” explored the applicability and effectiveness of two advanced machine learning algorithms (LSTM & Transformer) for Rainfall-Runoff modeling.
In addition, he has two years of private sector experience, and since 2024, has been working as a junior researcher in the Department of Water Resources and Environment of the School of Civil Engineering of NTUA.
Mr. Koutsos research focuses on advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modelling approaches, including data-driven and traditional methods, to support inland water transportation applications.
